This track concerns the science and engineering behind the next generation of materials to advance the performance of medical implants and engineered tissues, nanoscale drug delivery systems and contrast agents for biomedical imaging, biologically inspired nanomaterials and devices, and the interfacing of cells with engineered nanosystems. This “Molecular Bioengineering” track is part of the “Master’s program in Materials”, as well as of the new “Master’s program in Biomedical Engineering”.
The program is designed to give our students a thorough foundation in the fundamentals needed to perform research and to develop new technologies in this emerging field at the interface between the physical sciences, biosciences, engineering and medicine. Accordingly, our students will take courses covering the following topics:
