Julius-Springer-Prize for Applied Physics to Prof. Viola Vogel

The award winner is a pioneer in the use of biological motors for the creation of very small Conveyer belts, transporting biological and synthetic materials at the nanoscale precision. Possible applications of her research would help in the fight against bacterial infections, in tissue engineering artificial organs and in the development of new materials and pharmaceutical products.
