Competence Center for Materials and Processes (MaP)

Competence Center for Materials and Processes (MaP) logo

The Competence Center for Materials and Processes (MaP) brings together researchers from a variety of disciplines who share the common interest to develop and understand new materials and process technologies.

Materials, technologies and industrial processes are a main thematic focus area of the research strategy of ETH Zurich that we support by promoting cross-departmental research projects, knowledge exchange and dialogue between academia and external partners, such as industry and society. This allows us to broaden the knowledge base, to advance science and promote technology transfer to meet the challenges of mankind.

About Competence Centers

Competence centers at ETH Zurich are networks in which ETH professorships or ETH institutes from different disciplines can coordinate their scientific work on common strategic objectives.

They enable scientific topics to be worked on that can only be successfully addressed in an interdisciplinary group of scientists or in cooperation with cultural or business institutions.
