Lab Course IV

General Information:

Lab course introduction: 21.02.2012, 8h15 in HCI J574

First lab day: - Chemistry part  (Block B), Wed., 22.02.12, 13h00 im HCI H2.1, later on: G190

                       - Non chemistry part (Block A): Wed., 29.02.12. 

 Aims: To impart basic knowledge and experimental competence using selected examples from chemistry, biology and metal physics

 Contents

• Chemistry IV: 1. Chemical synthesis of a dipeptid 2. Metal-complex chemistry (together with the lecture Chemistry IV).
• Biology II:  1. Effects of a polymer on cell adhesion and cell survival of endothelial cells. 2. Analysis of extracellular matrix proteins by SDS-polyacrylamide electrophoresis
  
• Metal physics I: 1. Metallography/light microscophy. 2. Mechanical characterization

 Conditions for attestation: Carrying all experiments successfully out, all reports are acceptated  (each report has to been submitted within two weeks after finishing the corresponding experiment) and at the end of the lab course a poster presentation. 

Times:  Wednesday and Thursday, start at 13h00.

Meeting points:

       Chemistry part: lecture halls (see timetable, available in the report center) or lab (HCI G 190)

       Biology part:  HCI E 433

       Metal physics part:  M1: HCI F 526; M2: HCI E 530
