Nicola Spaldin receives the 2017 Mid-Career Researcher Award
The Materials Research Society has chosen Prof. Nicola Spaldin, Head of the Materials Theory group, to receive the Mid-Career Researcher Award for "her new theoretical framework describing multiferroics and service to the materials community" .
Nicola Spaldin was recognized during an awards ceremony at the 2017 MRS Spring Meeting in Phoenix, AZ. She will deliver her presentation at the 2017 MRS Fall Meeting in Boston external pageon Tuesday, November 28call_made.
The external pageMid-Career Researcher Awardcall_made recognizes exceptional achievements in materials research made by mid-career professionals. It is intended to honor an individual aged 40 to 52 at the time of nomination. Exceptions may be made for an interruption in career progression due to family or military service. The award recipient must also demonstrate notable leadership in the materials area.
The annual award consists of a $5'000 cash prize, a presentation trophy and a certificate. Meeting registration fee, transportation and hotel expenses to attend the MRS Spring Meeting at which the award is presented will be reimbursed.
